Head of Security – Global Operations

Our client is a leading global transport and logistics organisation with significant operations across most continents. Established with significant revenues in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
The Role
We are seeking an exceptional professional to build a comprehensive global security programme that incorporates proactive security risk management, continuous monitoring of all assets and building strong relationships with international law enforcement agencies and leading stakeholders.
As the Head of Security, you will leverage your deep expertise in security, crisis management, and intelligence to anticipate threats, mitigate risks, and ensure the safety and security of operations globally. You will also be the primary liaison between various teams and departments, ensuring effective security practices are implemented.
- Oversee a team of dedicated security specialists responsible for the day-to-day security operations, delivery of threat assessments, written and oral strategic intelligence assessments for internal stakeholders and for remote monitoring of supply chain assets and loads.
- Developing and implementing security policies, procedures and protocols that are current and proportionate with the evolving threats.
- Advisory and Consultancy: The principal security advisor to the commercial teams providing strategic guidance on security protocols, policies, and incident responses.
- Statistical Analysis: Analyse incident data to discern trends, propose mitigation strategies, and provide insights reports.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Cultivate and maintain relationships with national and international law enforcement agencies and government bodies.
- Incident Response: provide investigation services to the internal stakeholders into security-related incidents.
The Person Prior experience in policing or military intelligence with strong expertise in risk management and crisis response, working with/in the commercial sector.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to manage security incidents and investigations in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to write quickly and with impact.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with open-source intelligence tools and techniques and with mapping and or intelligence systems.
- Diplomatic approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Previous management experience.
- Highly motivated, self-driven professional who can think outside of the box.
- Able to communicate effectively and able to quickly build relationships and build networks.
- Strong interpersonal skills, deep curiosity and the ability to mentor senior management.
Preferred education certification and languages - Degree educated
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- Security and risk management degree
- Chartered Security Professional (CSyP)
- TAPA certification would be an advantage
- Spanish, and French languages highly desirable
